Plants are having a moment. Everyone's buying some and homes everywhere are turning green inside. Have some fun displaying yours with one of our whimsical planters made by Bangladeshi artisans working with CORR-The Jute Works.
CORR-The Jute Works believes in "trade not aid," and is a nonprofit helping women in Bangladesh earn money for their goods. The organization's roots go back to 1971 following the end of Bangladesh's War of Independence, when the Christian Organization for Relief and Rehabilitation started helping war widows, war victims, and other marginalized women become more self-sufficient and less dependent on "relief and sympathy." The Jute Works came shortly thereafter as an artisan collective for jute art.
